The buggy tour is the loud one. It starts at the El Limón stream and spends the afternoon on dirt tracks around the village, which in this part of Samaná means mud, river crossings and a lot of noise.
Halfway through there is a stop at a typical Dominican house, where the family grows cocoa, coffee and fruit and will show you what the raw pods actually look and taste like. It is the quiet part of the day and most people remember it as well as the driving.
From there the route runs down to the entrance of Las Cañas beach, on to Morón for a swim and photographs, and then to Limón beach before returning to the stream, where you can get in the natural pool and wash off the day.
The buggy tour Las Terrenas runs every day and you drive yourself. The driver needs a valid licence; a passenger does not.
