This is the day that shows you why people talk about Samaná’s beaches. It starts with the drive across the peninsula to Las Galeras, where small speedboats take over.
First is Playa Frontón, under the cliffs, where the snorkelling is the best of the three and there is usually nobody else. Then Playa Madama, a small bay of clear water where lunch is served — lobster, fish or chicken, your choice when booking.
The last stop is Playa Rincón, the big one, with time to swim before the boats head back. Three beaches in a day sounds rushed; because they are all reached by water, it is not.
The Playa Frontón tour Samaná runs Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and the three beaches are reached by speedboat from Las Galeras.
